A different kind of bike love.

“A bike should look good on it’s own, but it’s incomplete until a person rides it.”

I really liked that quote, so I listened to it a ridiculous number of times until I think I’ve got every word he said. I really wanted to hear how he said it.

    “バイクはもちろん、そのバイクそのもの単体でも格好いい方がいいんだろうけども、お客さんが乗って初めて完結するものだから…”

My take on it (probably a poor translation):
“With bikes, of course, it’s probably better if the bike itself looks cool alone, but it first becomes complete when the customer rides it…”

Always amazing to hear an articulate person try to explain what it means to them to create something. Especially finding the art in the functional. It makes any job more fulfilling when you can see your personal stamp on both the process and the product. The filmmakers here made just as beautiful a creation as their subject.
