Folks, hold on to your cross-stitch.

As I am sure all you locals are already aware, the Second Annual BikeCraft is happening this Thursday at City Hall. This year Sweetpea Bicycles will be in attendance and will be throwin’ down some mad crafts.

We will be selling both style and function. First, as part of our new “Wool for Steel Program”, we have the felted wool lobster gloves:

Lobster Gloves 001Lobster Gloves 002

These come in a number of different colors (based on the sweaters we used them from), and will be felted for premium warmth and water resistance. As Natalie likes to say, it’s the buddy system for your fingers. Supplies are limited. Colors are. . . exuberant.

We will be offering some block prints. Featured will be the newly rediscovered Bike Block Print as well as some new ones:

If anyone out there in internetland is interested in the bike art or wool lobster gloves, send us a love letter. Internet shopping to be set up, just as soon as we figure it out.

Okay, I’m intrigued. I’ve yet to find a bike glove that successfully keeps my fingers comfy without sweating and then freezing or just plain freezing. Plus, most gloves are boring. Sadly I can’t make it to Bikecraft, so I’ll keep an eye out for Internet ordering :)

    Hi Richard,

I am not sure that we can make any ironclad guarantees, but I can say that they are interesting (there is even an argyle pair) and messenger tested/approved. Natalie wore hers messengering all last year (the official beta test), and the custom pair she knit for me work pretty great. They won’t keep you dry in a downpour, but for what they lack in gore tex, they make up in style.

    Well, criminitely.
What’s a girl to do - if those aren’t the most delicious lobster gloves i’ve ever laid eyes on then I don’t know what are…
I’m a long time reader/lurker - love the digs here at ye olde sweatpea blog.
I’ll be in attendance at Bikecraft and will be on the look out for Sweatpea.
    See you there,

    SnarkyPants.

I think you are our new favorite person. Come introduce yourself at the BikeCraft! We will hook you up with one of our newly minted (reflective) spoke cards. If you want to protect your secret identity, just whisper the code word “snarkypants,” and we will take it from there.
